Celebration
Christmas@Helsinki
Celebrated Christmas with families and love ones are the best Christmas gift. This year is a little special with our special guest. E & H plus E *meow* joined us in our new IKEA dinning table. I got to try different recipes and very happy with the outcome ^^

Another year wiser and it was an amazing celebration this year with an expected surprise at end of the day. Although I tried to keep it low profile but somehow it din’t ended up low key. It started later in the day by dining at a Tiki restaurant called Kokomo which has great food but it comes with an expensive price tag. It has similar food as MaiKai in For Lauderdale but much better food minus the stage performance (Pacific dance).
Went to watch the Sirkus Finlandia (http://www.sirkusfinlandia.fi/english.html) and funny as most of the performer are international instead of Finns. It was an entertaining 2 hrs with some of my favourites of the day are 2 huge wheels that looks like rat running machine in gigantic sizes. 2 Bulgary guy were jumping and running inside/ ontop/ below/ around the wheels. Exciting! And i got the best gift ever a crazy light rotation with a horse as the base. Looks amazing in dark and it looks like it can be used to hypnotize somebody.
Went home to a surprise birthday party organized by Jules and side-kick Matias ^^ . Attended by Joy & Toffee, Yan and Jules & Sebastian. So sweet of them. I wish I could have said something better when I entered the house instead of saying “Open the windows, I can’t breath”… haha.. because it smells so stuffy with food. I should say “It smells so good”. Be polite. Anyway, I was greeted with “Happy Birthday!!!” when I entered the living room.
I was a bit speechless because I have never though someone would throw me a surprise party especially in Finland since we don’t have much friends although I kinda of get the feeling that something suspicious is going on. My 6th sense. but I was not connecting the dots. I am really happy and grateful ^^ Thanks guys you made my day even more special. It was warm and sweet.
Great homey food (imagine Bubur Cha Cha in Finland) and the highlight was I got a very beautiful well homemade Princess cake. My favourite cake of all time in Finland. And it even have my nickname on it “Angie”
Mother’s Day
For the first time, I am celebrating Mother’s day with my beloved Mum Janet… *CHEERS*
Started of with a surprise flower (plant) when she get out of the bedroom. Followed by breakfast made full of love. And she discovered the scrapbook “Our Story” in her room. Tears of joy as she go through 20 pages of pictures of us and poem to thank her. Not so successful Levitator magic show by me (just practice for an hour)… i sure need more practice and who say magic is easy. Later head out for Dinner + Polynesian Dance Show at Mai Kai. As expected food was a mixture of Thai, Chinese, Asian food and was OK but expensive for the quality of food. Dance was interesting as this is the 1st time experience for us. Seating could be better (we sat on the left side of the stage instead of front). Overall, mission accomplished as Mum is so happy on her day ^^ Love you!
CNY 2011
It is the 4rd time of my CNY in Finland & is Rabbit year. As usual the Helsinki City organized CNY performance at Lasipalatsi on the 1st day of CNY. This year we were late. As I was busy shopping around the Asian Store in Hakanemi for ingredients in preparation for the CNY Rabbit Open House. The 1st time we had throw a party in our house
Was great evening & an educational one for those who are not Chinese / Malaysian Chinese. Nasi Lemak with sambal belacan, Asam Pedas Fish, Prawn cracker, Malaysia jerky beef, Lou Sang, Penang Rojak, Wanton are the main hero dishes of the evening. Hero guests are 2 Malaysian Chinese, 1 China Chinese, 4 Finns, 1 Polish. Game of the day – Alias the guessing word game.
Lou Sang is a tradition and one of the must do thing in CNY with family and friends. Is a symbol of good luck. Family and friends gathered around the Lou Sang and toss the ingredients as high as they can while saying something good. This time we had it in English version and the outcome is random good words like Finnish winning in Ice Hockey game, Polish win in the next world cup, world peace and etc. Was fun & refreshing. My very first English Lou Sang.
Alias is always a funny game where there is moment of LOL (Laugh Out Loud). Like the following scenario that I copied pasted from Julia’s blog as I wasn’t remembering all the details
Matias: Two words, with a line in between.
Julz: *thinks* is it horizontal or vertical? What line???
Julz: Do you mean a hyphen?
Matias: Yes!
Matias: Another word for cups.
Julz: Glasses!
Me: Police!
Matias: Correct!
Julz: Cops or cups?
Paulina: *points to Marette* She is…?
Sasku: Dumb?
Matias: *to Angie* We have…?
Julz: Sunlight lamp?
Matias: Love! !!!
Thanks to all that make it to the evening! You guys ROCK like a RABBIT!

[In the Christmas mood]

Merry Christmas soon to be ![]()

A snow storm on Sunday makes everything looks so whitny snowy ![]()

I never miss the chance to peek outside of my kitchen window because some times it surprised me of how many birds there are resting and feeding on the trees. Thanks to the good 10x optical zoom, I can now take close up picture of birds without getting near to them and scared them away… flying off so fast without me even taken a snap shot of it.

Double V's wedding
Last weekend I had my 1st attend to a finnish wedding
A bit different from typical christian wedding. Was a shorter church ceremony about 20 minutes of priest speech, exchange ring, singing holy songs. A very holy ceremony. Although i dont understand what they say because it was in Finnish, it doesnt stop me from enjoying being the dvcam girl of the day. I was accompany by Matias at the top deck of the church to film he whole ceremony. Well I wish could hv more angle and not only the backside of the couple
but i cant go up stage and get a front shot because is a holy ground and filming there would be a distraction for the ceremony.

“Double V” was lovely couple finally got married

catch catch

yummy…typical finnish buffet wedding style. Frankly, I dont know how to difference. All the buffet seems almost same to me
sure i will see fish, potato, bread, salad prepared in the same way. Be it wedding buffet, father’s day buffet, mother’s day buffet… erm. I miss Malaysia food!!! Finnish food are yummy too but just i think Malaysia food has more variety. After all we are multiracial; what food also got (macam-macam pun ada)

some games during the reception

It was a whole day event from 2pm till midnight… changing locations from church to reception to after party bar
It was something different and interesting in its own way. Would say is more simpler wedding than our chinese and christian. No need to serve tea to elderly, no need give angpao, no need give gold, no need 2 look – day dress and night dress. Maybe this is what i call the EURO way
V @ Sweden
Went to Sweden for the purpose of attending Lily’s art exhibition of her Konstfack Uni, Stockholm. Sun was shinning brightly here and no rain! No more wet… but at the same time no more snow… i guess the global warming is really feeling… winter has been such a patethic one… snow, rain, snow, rain… winter is almost coming to the end and spring shall begin… embark new hope, new life

is sunny but windy at the same time which make it open air freezer :p

trying to look cool posing in the ship cabin. It took us almost 16 hrs to reach Stockholm from Helsinki by starcruise :p longer than i fly from Malaysia to Finland…hehe…as expected for ship… slow and not very steady as i can feel the ship moving when sleeping at night in cabin. Lucky no worst sea sick

Happy Valentine to all…muakzz

I dont hate you
Chinese New Year @ Finland
It was officially Rat Year in chinese calendar
My year as im born in wooden rat year… which means u might be able to guess how old am I =.= suddenly feel old already and yet I have so many things to accomplish… running out of time and yes as Gina said, may I win in this rat race
a good year ahead. Guess this year no more angpao (red packets filled with money to bring good luck)

Everyone dress up red for chinese believe red brings good luck

It was filled full with yummy candies

Thanks to Ya-Chen who takes all the effort and trouble to cook us (most of the people attend finnish class plus teacher) delicious chinese – Taiwanese style dinner

Red Bean desert with Glutinous RiceBall with peanuts fillings

Glutinous Rice with Meat filling

Fried RiceNoodles

Dumpling & Sweet Sticky Rice with red dates and raisin

Fried Coconut fill – it was sweet like candy…yummy & Pudding Desert with mix fruits topping

HYVÄÄ JOULUA = MERRY CHRISTMAS

HYVÄÄ JOULUA, KAIKKI…

Santa can u hear me, I have been so good this year

Is the time to sqeeze my creative juice for Christmas Card

Before Christmas we all went to forest to find and chop down christmas trees (own property). First time for me and as expected I cant spot any…haha… too thin the ones i spot…not the perfect one

Victory for the warrior who succesfully found christmas trees

and than the tree became…

It was the day of the month

One thing that cant be miss during Christmas of course is FOODS…no any food but yummy food

First attempt not bad

Porridge the finn style on christmas morning

ham

christmas breads… seasonal only and they are really good

lots kind of fishes…

ham in gel
cheese with shrimp topping…yummy!
I had a great Christmas at Helsinki and who knows in JKL too
is all on Blue’s hand
Cant wait for New Year… hehe… 2008 here I COME!!!
Father's Day
Last Sunday was Father’s day in European calender… so as a custom we went to dine for an evening buffet at Ravintola Sipuli (Restaurant Onion)… haha..yes i know it sounds funny name but indeed it was a really nice place. And guess what it … we are dinning below a church!
Gosh…my dream house! haha…although this is a restaurant
cause last week in finnish class we have to write about our dream house… and one of the things i mention is having a glass all-over wall and rooftop for my studio room
so i can see stars at night and maybe meteor rain ^^ lol
Btw, when i first enter the dining hall, i was like huh!!? So black and white setting… tables and chair and even the people who come over to dinning is wearing either black or white or monotone colors…

i though they are mourning over the tradegy that happens last week (but neh, it was not the case…but finns are really into monocolor even during autumn where everything looks so dull and pastel) where 1st in the Finland history happesn gunshot in high school.
Yesss! u heard me…gunshot!!! After all anything can happen although Finland is always well known as peaceful country and 9 lifes are taken away included the gunman himself as he suicide by shoting on is own head after killing 7 of his schoolmates and the headmaster. It was sad day. According to the news, he was 18 yrs old boy who had hard time being bullied in school and he was a bit out of control and random shot dead his classmate. It was sad that he choose to “random” target victims killing the innocent rather than on the guilty bullies! It was learn that he did post on youtube.com and saying he will open fire at school and another clips of him testing his gun on an apple in the woods but too bad these early alarm was not being pay attention to and now lifes gone… this is CNN report on the case. Youtube.com has remove the video and suspend his account… http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/11/07/school.shooting/index.html
Hallowen
Apology for not updating for sometimes… well, sometimes people do get lazy and busy
although in my case is more towards lazy…hehe. Anyway, hvn’t really been going around lately and thus nothing much to update too. I guess winter is almost coming as today it was raining rae (looking like snow but more icy type). The 1st thing i saw when i open my room window is the backyard of forest covered by white rae ^^ my 1st expression was “WOWWWWWWW” haha… cause i guess this is the 1st time i see all things covered up by white. Pretty!!! I feel like in the The Chronicles of Nirvana tree’s branches in white…
First thing i see when i open my window that morning
Playing snow at backyard…neh i din lose in the snow war game
My very own 1st snowman…hehe
Only for baby blue ^^

When pumpkin turns into snow pumpkins! >P
Halloween was not popular in European countries… i guess it is an American thing… still remember what Y** said “I dont understand why the americans celebrate ghost day?” and I answered “Just for fun”…hehe… Maybe human just need a reason to party around… and halloween was not so bad after all… u can dress up like ghost or for some girls – just dont put makeup…haha…naked skin…a reason to be lazy and u will look like a real ghost… brilliant! well not that i said girls are not beauty in nature and need make up but some really had bad skin or what sort ever that they look totally a disaster if they dont put on make up…no offence
got this whole idea of naked skin= scary look from the pictures of celebrities before and after make up… drastic difference…”no wonder the make up set sell so expensive” (code for siewsiewmun) lol…
Eventually we still have halloween party at the house. Not really for adult but more to kids. I crave 3 pumpkins by myself. It turn out pretty good for the 1st timer. Way to go Angeline
and i was decorating the house with spider web… and I am a spider girl for the night…lol… just put some spiderweb on my head and done! That’s my custome…easy! Kids start pouring in and everyone seems to enjoy themselve…obviously we have lots of candies, chips, pop corns, pizzaz, cookies and soft drinks to keep the happy…lol and to keep me happy too ^^

Happy Mooncake Festival to me

People say overseas moon are bigger than your home moon… maybe cause eastern country are located nearer to the moon…now i can see double moon ^^ no mooncake also nevermind… Today is Mooncake Festival… no mooncake for this year

im not crazy

my little heaven

and yes 2 days ago… i though it was snowing but is actually rae
